The purpose of a treatment plant is to purify water, either by recycling waste water in their natural environment, or by transforming natural water into drinking water.

Two different water treatment processes

The physico-chemical treatment is being used in order to treat toxic industrial waste (for example), or in case large amounts of waste need to be treated.

The biological treatment uses micro-organisms to reduce pollution.
